How do artists create and where does their vision come from? This short film merges the studio with the world, unfolding the development of a landscape painting of Hawthorn, in open air at Swinburne University, over 10 months of painstaking work in all weather.

"This is the story of Matt and Dan. They like the finer things in life... beer and football".
When we initially received the film we were excited by the fact that it spoke about such a delicate subject. Director Andrew Walsh has a large amount of films under his belt, which meant that we were able to work with someone who already knew the process.
With regard to editing, there was very little to do. We generally just tidied up, balanced the dialogue, recorded and inserted some foley. There was very little sound design as this is a drama, and so we wanted the film to feel real. During the first pivotal point of the film is where the most sound design was done, as this helped to enhance the story.

The Waiting Game
The Waiting Game, written and directed by Jerome Velinsky, is a short film that challenges friendship, trust, and the youthful cockiness we've all given in to at some point in time. Going through the sound design, we completed foley and inserted ADR that was completed in Toronto.

"Alex meets Francis, a lighthouse keeper, as she is waiting for a boat to take her around the bay, which will lead her closer to home and her girlfriend in Germany".
A Point Cool Productions film. When Jack first came to us with 'Distant Boats', he was just looking for a clean up. However, we really liked this film, so we said that we wanted to do more than that, something to help bring the film into a new world. We completed the design with SFX for the infographics that pop up around the film, atmos, and some foley work.
There was quite a lot of work done, but the completed product is something that we're very proud of.

"Bush, a man stuck in the past, is confronted with his old high school flame's prospect of moving away and is forced to finally fight for her affection".
For 'Sensitive Blokes' we were brought on board to complete the sound design. As this is a drama, there wasn't much in the way of 'design' to be done. As a result there are no SFX, and we were only needed to balance dialogue and music and to complete a mix.
There was some ADR work to be done for the scenes shot outdoors, as there was a generator in the background. For these sessions we used both a condenser and shotgun microphone to replicate the production sound had there not been any background interference.
